Social and other events

As at past events, delegates can purchase tickets to attend social and other events during National Conference 2025.

Once you have registered for National Conference 2025, you can return to the Registration Portal at any time to update your registration and purchase tickets to masterclasses, and social and other events.

Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will be held at the Lowitja O’Donoghue Cultural Centre at Kambri at ANU (the main conference venue) on Wednesday 3 September from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Drinks and canapes will be served. More details about the event coming soon.

Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will be held in the Gandell Atrium at the National Museum of Australia from 6:30 to 10:30pm on Thursday 4 September. Conference Dinner tickets include:

  • Pre-dinner drinks and canapes from 6:30 to 7:30pm
  • Access to the Great Southern Land exhibition from 6:30 to 7:30pm
  • A three-course sit-down dinner
  • Music and dancing

Culture on the Move basket weaving workshop

On Wednesday 3 September, delegates who are not attending a masterclass can choose from several other events, including a traditional Aboriginal weaving workshop delivered by Culture on the Move

At the workshop you will learn the art of traditional weaving techniques and learn about the artifacts and natural fibres Aboriginal people have used for weaving for thousands of years.

The workshop will be held at Women’s Legal Centre ACT from 10:30am to 12:00 noon and light refreshments will be provided. Participants will be advised of the address after registration.

Tickets cost $127 and can be purchased via the Registration Portal. Places are limited to 29.

She Shapes History walking tours

Also on offer on Wednesday 3 September are two bespoke walking tours delivered by She Shapes History which will explore sites around ANU and Canberra city that tell the story of how women have shaped history through the law.

Two identical one-hour walking tours will start from Kambri at ANU (near Harry Hartog Booksellers).

  • Tour 1: 9:30–10:30am
  • Tour 2: 11:00am–12:00 noon

Tickets cost $48 and can be purchased via the Registration Portal. Places are limited to 24 per tour.
