Under limited direction, the Solicitor provides legal advice, representation and support to disadvantaged older people across NSW. Areas include tenancy, guardianship, consumer rights, credit and debt, discrimination, human rights, family violence, wills, powers of attorney, strata and aged care. The role includes casework, tribunal and court representation, dispute resolution, legal education seminars, resource development, research, law reform, reporting and program development. The Solicitor works with staff, volunteers and law students, with limited supervision duties. They also contribute to outreach initiatives, strengthen referral pathways and build collaborative relationships with community organisations, legal networks and service providers to improve access to justice and client outcomes. Seniors Rights Service operates in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, initiative and strong organisational and critical thinking skills.
