Under the supervision of the Managing Solicitor of the Darwin practice, provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients of Legal Aid NT charged with criminal offences. You are an experienced senior solicitor with high-level knowledge and experience in criminal law practice and procedures, including well developed advocacy skills. You have a minimum of five years post-admission experience in criminal law practice, including the conduct of contested matters and have demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, complex legal advice, assistance and representation in a range of criminal law matters and undertake related advocacy, policy and law reform work. Crucial in your success in this role is your high-level interpersonal and communication and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to liaise and communicate effectively with staff, external stakeholders and clients with complex needs and from diverse backgrounds.
