Principal Solicitor – Kimberley Community Legal Services – Kununurra WA

Kimberley Community Legal Service is looking for an experienced Principal Solicitor to join a multidisciplinary team in Kununurra. As a Principal Solicitor, you will be working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to manage the Legal Team (East Kimberley). No two days will look the same in this role, but on a typical day you might:

  • Coordinate the provision of legal information, advice, assistance, casework, and representation to clients across the Kimberley region
  • Manage KCLS’ legal staff, including performance reviews and professional development planning and delivery
  • Coordinate the involvement of solicitors in community legal education and provide training and support to staff in the provision of legal information
  • Participate in community networks and build/maintain relationships with referring agencies, key organisations, community leaders, and local people relevant to legal issues
  • Identify and develop opportunities for improving the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of legal services and community legal education
  • Undertake professional development activities to maintain and enhance the knowledge and skills required to fulfil the key responsibilities of the position.
