Financial Rights Legal Centre is a community-based legal centre in Surry Hills specialising in financial services, particularly credit, banking, insurance and debt. The centre is seeking to employ an enthusiastic financial counsellor for an eighteen-month contract. This is a full-time role. Commitment to consumer rights and cultural safety is essential. The position involves providing information, financial counselling advice and referrals via the centre’s intake channels. The channels include the Mob Strong Debt Help line, Youpla line and the Caseworker line. The role also includes providing advocacy for clients via task assistance or ongoing casework. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged  to apply.
