
CAWLS is seeking a criminal lawyer to join the legal team on a two-year contract which may be extended. The role is to provide legal advice and casework assistance to women criminalised in a range of legal areas. This position reports to the Senior Management Team and offers a unique opportunity to work as a criminal lawyer. The role includes outreach travel and participation in bush courts to provide holistic, trauma-informed legal assistance to vulnerable women in regional and remote areas. Ideally previous experience as a criminal lawyer. CAWLS is seeking a self-motivated candidate with high-order advocacy and written communication and problem-solving skills, demonstrated legal practice experience and a strong work ethic; a candidate who is passionate about improving access to justice for women in Central Australia and the Barkly Region.
