2026-27 Pre-budget submission

The National Access to Justice Partnership Agreement 2025-30 (NAJP) provides community legal centres with a modest funding uplift over five years. However, this uplift falls far short of what is needed to meet legal need in the community.

This submission recommends six targeted Commonwealth investments in community legal centres in 2026-27 drawn from our Vision for Justice and Actions for the 48th Parliament of Australia.

Alone, these investments won’t achieve our Vision for Justice or resolve the significant disparity between unmet legal need and our sector’s capacity to respond, but they will help to fill some critical justice gaps.
