Principal Lawyer – Justice Connect – Melbourne/Sydney

Justice Connect’s Self-Representation Law program helps people navigate courts without a lawyer. This Principal Lawyer role sits at the centre of that work, leading legal practice, supervising a team of lawyers and paralegals and holding responsibility as the Responsible Person under the Risk Management Guide. Day-to-day, the work ranges from reviewing complex advice plans (bankruptcy, tenancy appeals, unpaid wages) to attending court stakeholder meetings and running team legal discussions. Strong relationships with courts and referral partners are a core part of the job, not a side task. The ideal candidate has experience across civil, employment, tenancy or administrative law, and either holds a Principal Practising Certificate or is eligible for one. Based in Melbourne or Sydney CBD, hybrid (40% in office). Open to 0.8 to 1.0 FTE. Salary: $123 564 $126 087 plus 12% super plus salary packaging (up to $15 900 tax-free). Five weeks annual leave.
