Solicitor, Criminal Law/Respondent Early Assistance Legal Service (REALS) – Legal Aid NT – Darwin

Under the supervision of the Managing Solicitor of the regional office and the REALS Managing Solicitor, provide high-quality legal advice, representation, advocacy and legal assistance to REALS clients and clients across criminal law in the respective local court. You will be an experienced and dedicated solicitor who thrives in a busy, client-focused environment and can work both collaboratively and independently. You will have the ability to deliver high-quality legal advice, assistance, and representation in a range of criminal law matters, and as duty lawyer for respondents appearing in the domestic and family violence duty list. A strong understanding of legal issues impacting disadvantaged communities in the Northern Territory is a must. You will be committed to culturally appropriate, best-practice service delivery and contributing to advocacy, policy, and law reform work with professionalism and compassion.
