The Senior Solicitor leads a small team, including a solicitor and intake officer, to provide high-quality legal advice and casework to patients of the Sydney Local Area Health District (SLHD). Outreach services are delivered across multiple SLHD sites, including RPA Hospital, Sydney Dental Hospital, the Professor Marie Bashir Centre and Redlink Waterloo Social Housing. The practice provides legal services in a broad range of civil matters with a focus on care and protection, domestic and family violence, tenancy, credit and debt, family law (including parenting matters, preliminary property advice, separation and divorce) and victims support/compensation. There are also criminal matters involving diversion because of mental health or cognitive impairment. The practice has a strong focus on supporting people with mental health conditions and First Nations community members.
