Solicitor (two positions) – Wirringa Baiya Aboriginal Women’s Legal Centre – Marrickville NSW

Wirringa Baiya is recruiting for two solicitor positions; one will be responsible for delivering a sexual violence project. The positions are to start as soon as is possible and finish on Friday, 27 June 2025.

  • SCHADS award: Level 6, paypoint 1–3 to Level 7, paypoint 1–3 (negotiable, depending on experience); note salary sacrificing is available
  • Position: Full-time solicitor – 35 hours pw, Hours 9:00am–5:00pm
  • Duties include:
    • Providing advice on the advice line and in-person casework under the supervision of the Principal Solicitor (and other senior solicitors when required)
    • Working with our Aboriginal casework specialists when clients have non-legal needs under the supervision of the CEO
    • Assisting with any community legal education (CLE) and law reform activities as required under the supervision of the CEO and Principal Solicitor (note that CLE work may on occasion require weekend work and overnight rural travel)
