Senior Family Lawyer – Northern Community Legal Centre – Broadmeadows VIC

The Senior Family Lawyer is based at the Broadmeadows office, and is responsible for providing family law expertise to support to a range of family violence projects including NCLC’s Safe Landing Project which responds to the migration and family violence-related legal and support needs of women residing on temporary visas in Australia; North-West Enhanced Pathways Project, a health Justice partnership model with maternal child health services; and the Financial Divide Project, which focuses on lawyer assisted property law dispute resolution to enhance financial sustainability for victim survivors fleeing family violence. The role will have a stronger focus on a recent project, the Young Women’s Economic Empowerment Project, which seeks to enhance the safety, stability and improve the financial status of young women subjected to family violence, through streamlined access to legal assistance, with barriers to economic security identified and acted upon through broader systemic advocacy.
