Redfern Legal Centre has an exciting opportunity for a lawyer to be part of a high-impact police accountability practice and work with the diverse community of Redfern in the generalist practice. Permanent, full-time role; Salary and benefits: $109 625 – $130 113 p.a. depending on qualifications and experience. You will provide information, advice and casework on policing and generalist law issues including police powers, fines, discrimination, victim’s compensation, AVOs, Stolen Generations Reparations, National Redress Scheme, guardianship and government complaints. The policing and generalist practices work with a high proportion of First Nations clients, clients experiencing disadvantage, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities and people with mental illness. You will work with local and relevant statewide organisations to identify issues requiring systemic change and undertake policy, law reform and advocacy work.
