Redferen Legal Centre is recruiting for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander lawyer to contribute to its innovative and dynamic policing and generalist practices. Identified role for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lawyers only. You will provide information, advice and casework on policing and generalist law issues including police powers, fines, discrimination, victim’s compensation, AVOs, Stolen Generations Reparations, National Redress Scheme, guardianship and government complaints. The policing and generalist practices work primarily with First Nations clients and clients experiencing disadvantage. You will work with First Nations clients and organisations to identify issues requiring systemic change and undertake policy and law reform, and advocacy to create change.
