SCALES Community Legal Centre are recruiting a full-time position (1.0 FTE) or 2x part-time (0.6FTE) Generalist Solicitors to join the team. The Generalist Solicitor will provide legal services that include information, referral, advice, advocacy, casework, representation, community legal education, and law and policy reform. The position is accountable to the Principal Solicitor for compliance with the Community Legal Centres Australia (CLCA) Professional Indemnity Insurance Guidelines and for day-to-day professional supervision. The role is located within the legal practice and will be based in Rockingham and includes: • Direct client services in family law, including drafting court documents and some representation • Working collaboratively with the admin officer, client advocate, lawyers, financial counsellor and counsellor to meet the client’s other legal and non legal needs. For example, family violence restraining orders, criminal injuries compensation, tenancy (private and social housing), criminal law and other civil matters. |
