Northern Territory Legal Aid has an exciting new position that will bring an important integrated family safety-focused service to the Katherine Region. The Domestic Violence Solicitor – Family Law Practice role provides high-quality legal assistance, including duty lawyer services to defendants in Domestic Violence Order matters. There will also be opportunity to provide advice and assistance in child protection and family law matters, with the supervision and mentorship of the Managing Solicitor of the Legal Aid NT Family Law Practice. With a focus on family safety, this position involves working collaboratively with the Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) support worker and with other stakeholders in the region, helping clients access available supports to address their underlying needs.
