The JEC has a board of up to twelve Directors. Directors are independent and non-executive and are not remunerated, but can be reimbursed for certain reasonable expenses. Directors are appointed for a three-year term and may serve up to three consecutive terms. The Board meets six times per year: four general-business meetings, one planning and budget focused and one focused on governance. Other commitments include participation in relevant committees, strategic planning sessions and occasional events. The average time commitment is approximately four voluntary hours per month. To complement the skills of existing Directors, the organisation is particularly interested in individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
We welcome applications from first-time board members, and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Please send a brief expression of interest outlining your background, governance experience (if any) and what you would bring to the JEC Board to jobs@jec.org.au
