This page is an expansion of The National Legal Assistance Data Standards Manual to assist Centres in their understanding of how client and service records moved from CLSIS to CLASS. This should assist in comparing reports or data from pre-2017, and outline where you would expect to see your data now.
Centres were migrated from CLSIS between February and April 2017. The migration involved a number of factors, including moving data to a new structure in line with the National Legal Assistance Data Standards Manual.
Every object had an associated migration rule to ensure it moved to the correct place in the new database.
Disclaimer: The migration rules from CLSIS to CLASS were based on the core CLSIS instructions. That is, the rules were based on how centres were advised to use CLSIS in training or other forums. As many centres had heavily customised CLSIS, and may have (for good reason) deviated from the common practice, there are some rules which may not perfectly suit every centre. This should be a minimal number of centres, and we have tried to offer support or batch fixes where possible.
